           Avery Hill's "33 Contemporary Swedish Weaving Patterns for Monk's Cloth" was written by Jeanne Tams and Nan Duffin.  It is 64 pages long with a color photo of each project.  The book begins with all the steps to start your project, including: fabric preparation, stitching techniques, yarn selection, and fabric measurements.  Once you learn the two easy stitches, float and split float, you are on your way.  Next you will find detailed instructions and a diagram for the "Tumbling Hearts" pattern and then diagrams for the additional 32 patterns.  Also included in the book, are two drawing pages for you to use when combining different design elements from our 33 patterns.  

        Although this book is designated as patterns for monk's cloth, the patterns can be also stitched on any even weave fabric, such as Huck cloth, Stockholm (or Popcorn) cloth, Aida cloth, linen, dish towels, afghan material, and gingham.
